Der Kiez Ihrer neuen Wohnung ist ein sehr interessanter Ort der Geschichte.
Ende der 1880er Jahre wurden die sandigen Berge im Osten von Steglitz als Baumaterial der wachsenden Stadt abgetragen - später machte der deutsche Flugpionier Otto Liliental hier seine ersten Flugversuche. Noch 1922 hielt die sandige Umgebung als Drehort für einen in Ägypten spielenden Film („Das Weib des Pharao“) her.
Die 1900 in Steglitz gegründete „Steglitzer Werkstatt“ gilt auch heute noch als eines der Keimzellen der Buchkunstbewegung. Später wurde diese die erste „moderne“ Werbeagentur in Deutschland.
